NSW Flexi Championships 2026

NSW Flexi Championships 2026:

2 Day event across 12 lanes (2 Tracks)

Date: 21st & 22nd Mar 2026

 

Flat Track Classes: Flexi DTM Sedan & JK Indy Car

Race Format:

Racing will run over 2 days. This is an individual event.

The race will be a combination of ‘Flexi DTM Sedan’ & JK Indy Car on the Flat Track, and Retro’s & Brushless Flexi Stock Cars on the Suzuka Track.

Participants will be split into 2 groups drawn from a hat. Group 1 & Group 2 (depending on numbers)

Racing will run simultaneously on both tracks.

Tracks will be available 11am to 4pm Thursday, and 11am to 8pm Friday for practice.

Saturday from 8am for practice.

Saturday - 09:00 Group draw for which track racers will start on.

10:00 – Scrutineering:

10:30 – Qualifying: Group 1 Retro on Suzuka / Group 2 DTM on Flat Track

11:00 Race 1 starts on both tracks: 3 Minute Heats

Lunch after 1st Race

Racers move to the other track:

13:30 – Qualifying - Group 2 Retro on Suzuka / Group 1 DTM on Flat Track

14:00 – Race 2 starts on both tracks: 3 Minute Heats

Finals For Retro & DTM:

16:00 – Finals 1: DTM on Flat Track: 3 Minute Heats

17:00 –Finals 2: Retro on Suzuka: 3 Minute Heats

Racing ends for the Day 18:00

Sunday: Doors open 8am:

Race 3:

9:30am – Scrutineering:

10:00 – Qualifying: Group 1 Brushless Flexi Stock Car on Suzuka / Group 2 Indy Cars on Flat Track

10:30 Race 3 starts on both tracks: 3 Minute Heats

Lunch after 3rd Race

Racers move to the other track:

13:00 – Qualifying - Group 2 Brushless Flexi Stock Car on Suzuka / Group 1 Indy Cars on Flat Track

13:30 – Race 4 starts on both tracks: 3 Minute Heats

Finals For Retro & DTM: Top 6 from each Class: Based on overall Accumulative Laps.

15:30 – Finals 3: Indy Cars on Flat Track: 3 Minute Heats

16:30 – Finals 4: Brushless Flexi Stock Cars on Suzuka: 3 Minute Heats

17:30 - Presentation:

Rules as per ASCRA website. With any event specific changes as listed.

 

 

Format DTM Sedan: Flat Track

 Motor:                Plafit Cheetah 4 stamped sealed can motor. No modifications except motor case may be notched to clear axle. Motor may be held by any combination of screwing, gluing and soldering in place.

Gears:                  Any ratio only using 48 or 64 pitch gears – Plastic Spur Gear only.

Bearings:             Oilites only – May be soldered or glued to the chassis. 

Wheels:               Rear: Any 3/32 or 1/8th Commercially available. Tyres may be taped or cleaned with Shellite. No tyre “goo” traction additives permitted on tyres or the track. Must not protrude past body line. Maximum Diameter 0.740

                              Front Optional:

Chassis:                JK C21 Flexi Only

Motor can be screwed or soldered in place. Motor and axle bracing permitted. Pin tubes: Fixed pin tubes located at original body clip mount points are allowed. Motor mounting tabs may Not be removed. No aluminium parts.

Clearances:         Maximum width 85mm.  Front clearance - Guide must be spaced to achieve front chassis clearance of .5mm.  Rear clearance – 1mm minimum at rear of chassis including spur gear.

Body:                    DTM Body 0.007 or 0.10 permitted. No additional air control is allowed. Windows must be clear or tinted. Three race numbers must be visible. Front wheel arches must be cut out, clear, or have front wheel stickers in correct position. Interiors are not required.

Format JK Indy Car: Flat Track

Motor:                 JK Products Hawk M7 stamped sealed short can motor. No modifications except motor case may be notched to clear axle. (M7BB not allowed)

Gears:                  Any ratio only using 48 or 64 pitch gears

Bearings:             Oilites only – May be soldered or glued to the chassis.

Wheels:               Front: Any 3/32” or 1/8” commercially available with a minimum width of 0.375” – edges may be rounded BUT minimum tyre contact of 0.250” must be maintained. Independent wheels allowed (No Ball Bearings)

Rear:                    Any 3/32” or 1/8” commercially available; maximum diameter of 0.765”.

Axles may be soldered to set axle height. Independent front wheels allowed.

Chassis:                JK Products C35 Steel Indy Flexi only permitted.

Motor may be held by any combination of screwing, gluing and soldering.

Motor mounting tabs may be partly or completely removed.

Fixed or floating pin tubes located at original body clip mount points are allowed.

Clearances:         Maximum width 83mm.  Front clearance - Guide must be spaced to achieve front chassis clearance of .5mm.  Rear clearance – 1mm.

Body:                    Lexan Indy Car Body from JK Products or RTR (Ralph Thorne Racing) Only permitted.

 

As per ASCRA National Classes & Rules:

Format Brushless Stock Car: Suzuka Track

 

Body:              Only manufactured Nascar Sedan .007” or .010” allowed. No additional air control is allowed. The back of the body ( rear bumper/valance portion ) may be cut out/removed. Maximum rear body height from track surface - 45mm. Windows must be clear or tinted. Three race numbers must be visible. Front wheel arches may be cut out or clear (if front wheels installed) or have front wheel stickers in correct position. Must have stickers in correct position if front wheels are not used. Interiors are required in open cockpit cars only.

Motor:            KC3200KV – Maximum rear wheel RPM 14,100

ESC:                 Mid America, DoSlot,  Westrock +One Chip/ESC(s).

Chassis:           JK Products ‘Flexi’ type, Gemini or KC Volton Components may be mixed from differing JK models. Motor may be held by any combination of screwing, gluing and soldering in place.

A brushless motor bracket and/or additional motor brace may be installed. Motor mounting tabs and front wheel mounting tabs may be removed. Pin tubes: Fixed pin tubes located at original body clip mount points are allowed.

Gearing:          Ratio is 64 pitch 14/34 plastic spurs only.

Wheels Front: None

Wheels Rear:  Any 3/32” commercially available with a maximum diameter of 0.740”.

                        Maximum width at any point is 85mm.

Axles:              Front: any type including pins may be used.

Rear: 3/32” solid Steel (axle flats for wheels and spur are allowed).

Bearings:         Oilites only which may be soldered or glued in position Width

Clearances:     Front: Guide must be spaced to achieve minimum front chassis clearance of 0.5mm.

Rear: 1mm minimum at rear of chassis including spur gear.

 

Format Retro: Suzuka Track

 

Motor:                 Cheetah 4 The motors may be screwed, glued or soldered in.

Gears:                  This will be an open gearing event

Bearings:             Retro: Refer ASCRA Link. (https://ascra.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=1709)

Wheels:               Rear: Must be a Minimum 0.800”

Front: Retro: Refer ACRRA Link(https://ascra.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=1709)

Chassis Clearance for this event will be 1mm

Entry Details: Doors Open Saturday at 8.00am, Racing Starts after Qualifying (Qualifying starts at 10am) & and will run to approx. 6pm

Sunday: Doors open 8am, Racing to commence at 9am to finish approx. 5pm

 

Cost $20 per Person per Race Class ($80 for full weekend): Cafe onsite all Day to purchase your own food.

 

 

 

 

 

Accomodation

Limited space is available for caravans / camper trailers in the carpark area By Pre-Arrangement (Note: ground is gravel). Showers and Toilet will be made available in the evening after Racing, and Early in the morning prior to racing..

There is also the option of the Koala Shores campsite less than 5 minutes drive away. Camping and cabins are available, but booking early is suggested. Tel: (02) 4982 4401
